This week’s focus will be on insects and why they are important to us. Insects are underappreciated for their role in the food web. They are the food source for many amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals. Without insects to help break down and dispose of wastes, dead animals and plants would accumulate, and make our environment an unhealthy place to live in. Our book readings and video clips will include When the Fly Flew In, Silk the Spider Meets Sam the Caterpillar, Icky, Icky Insects, Save the Environment, and I Am the Earth.
