This week’s focus will be on plants. From the tiny buttercup to the giant redwood tree, plants come in all colors, shapes, and sizes. But plants are not only rich in color and variety-they are central to life on Earth. They create food for animals to eat. By forming habitats, such as lush rainforests and shady woodlands, they provide a place for animals to live. Plants produce the oxygen that is in the air we breathe, and so are essential to keeping us alive. Our book readings will include From Seed to Plant, Flower Garden, Jack and the Beanstalk, If You Plant a Seed, and Mrs. Fickle’s Pickles.
